Our Men’s Reading Group meets primarily for the purpose of reading Christian books. We meet on the third Saturday monthly in St. David’s Centre at 8.30 am for a cooked breakfast, fellowship, discussion on our current book and prayer. Recent books have been: The Heavenly Man, Why the Reformation Still Matters, Why Men Hate Going to Church and The Case for Christ. All men are welcome whether or not they have been able to read the book but it is helpful to let Mark Taylor (01608 652564) know if you are coming for catering purposes. Alternatively please sign up on the sheet provided on the Welcome Desk at the back of Church.
As well as our monthly book reading breakfast, during 2018 we had a visiting speaker and more will be scheduled. It is our aim to reach out to men who wish to know more about the Christian Faith and to this end our group is now affiliated to Christian Vision for Men (CVM). It is a movement that provides training, support and resources for groups across the UK. Please see their website www.cvm.org.uk .
In order to get to know more men we are planning a number of other activities namely pub meal and skittles (11th April) , and a day’s sea fishing trip.
